Portable Monitors
A portable monitor is a standalone thin screen, usually 13 to 16 inches, powered and fed by a single USB-C cable. It travels in a laptop bag and sets up on any desk with its own stand or folio.
Choose it first by how you connect: a USB-C port with video (Thunderbolt, USB4 or DisplayPort) carries image and power in one cable, while HDMI-only laptops need a separate power source. Then weigh panel type (OLED for contrast, IPS for price), weight if you travel, and how many external screens your computer can drive. Our reviews keep manufacturer figures and our own measurements separate, and the compatibility checker tells you if your Mac or PC can run the screen natively.
